The first Glenora School, on the corner of 128 Street and Stony Plain Road, is a repurposed wood frame building moved from its original site when the new Westmount School is built. It is replaced in 1940 by the current Glenora School on 102 Avenue.

Glenora School is designed in an English style to reflect the neighbourhood’s architectural character and built by architects Rule, Wynn and Rule at a cost of $55,000. It officially opens November 14, 1940. The ravine which forms part of the south facing schoolyard is later filled in to prevent children getting into mischief.
